Nestled in the high street in the small coastal town of Warrenpoint along from Rostrevor is The Willows Café. An a-board declaring organic teas led me down the logic of thinking that perhaps they would have some vegan options for food.
There was a vegetarian breakfast that, without the egg was vegan and filled my brunch shaped hole. However, what really blew us away was the Guinness Wheaten Bread that came with my boyfriend’s vegetable soup. Made fresh in the café, this deliciously dark bread was moist, a gorgeous consistency with the right amount of crumble.
I’m not sure the pictures have done it justice but it’s well worth the trip if you’re in the area. The views on the promenade are beautiful too.
