Where: Chotto Matte, 11-13 Firth Street, London, W1D 4RB
When: 2nd November 2017
This was my second trip to the colourful ‘Chotto Matte’. My first was marred somewhat by me having to run away prematurely for a bus. So my best friend and I decided to rectify that by having a leisurely lunch here now we had some time, it was also my birthday treat, so thanks lovely lady!
Chotto Matte is a unique Japanese and Peruvian fusion restaurant, with restaurants in Miami and Toronto as well London. Unfortunately the menu is a little lacking in vegan information but the lovely waitress helped me muddle through and pick out some lovely things, I was also surprised that the gyoze were not vegan.
However, I very much enjoyed my paper-thin vegetables as a starter, which was a cold salad of beetroot, carrot, daikon interspersed with chia and quinoa.
The yasai roll was a generous portion and amused us both with the whimsical placement of salad vegetables.
What enhances the Chotto Matte experience is the colour and murals in and outside the building which add a cool modernity to this fusion restaurant.
