Stena Line Cairnryan to Belfast

Where: Stena Line Ferry, Cairnryan to Belfast

When: 5th November 2017

I love travelling by ferry and I’m always looking for environmentally friendly options when travelling, so I was excited to be back on the ferry from Cairnryan, Scotland to Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Due to a bit of a full on trip from Esher to London to Lockerbie to Cairnryan I’d had no breakfast and I was booked on the 11:30 sailing. I was dubious about what I’d find to eat as I’d previously emailed customer service to ask their options and had no reply. The little café in the terminal had no vegan options apart from crisps and black coffee/tea/juice etc, so when I boarded the ferry I went in search of some grub. The menu offered some vegetarian options including a vegetarian breakfast though that wasn’t being served at the time- the 11:30 sailing. The glass noodle salad was my one and only option. Though happy I could eat more than just crisps.

Though the salad was tasty and the staff helpful, it would be fantastic to see some more vegan options on the Stena Line ferry.
