Blue Moon Cafe, Langholm, Scotland

UPDATE: The Blue Moon Cafe sadly closed January 2019

Where: Blue Moon, 42-44 High Street, Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland DG13 0JH

When: 16th February 2018

The Blue Moon was situated on the high street of the lovely Scottish border town of Langholm. For 5 years it had been a craft and gift shop with a coffee shop and on Friday was a celebration and opening night of their expanded menu to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu.

They put on a lovely launch night, with samples from the new menu, talks and cooking demonstrations. As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed and we sat down to taste some of the lovely vegan wrap samples, including ‘vegan coronation chicken’, falafel and houmous and vegan ‘duck’, and delicious vegan garlic mayo. I also enjoyed a well frothed ‘Capoatcinno’ with oat milk of course!

An inspirational cooking demonstration was put on by John Crouch having recently returned from India he showed us how to make a tasty dhal, coconut rice. and date based dessert.

It was a lovely evening and I look forward to returning.
