A beautiful unassuming Italian restaurant lies on Ao Kao Kwai Road, I wouldn’t have found this place if it hadn’t been for my Italian friend that I was hanging out with. The restaurant is run by a lovely Italian lady who fell in love with the island of Koh Phayam, enthused about Italian food but also wanted to make dishes with local ingredients. She set about setting up Osteria del Tempo Perso, where she developed a cashew based pesto as well as making her own pasta.
There are a couple of dishes that would be vegan on the menu, and the owner is also happy to adapt, I was fancying a dish with local cashews, so she made me spaghetti with roasted cashews and vegetables. This was fantastic, Italian cooking with a twist at its finest.
