When: 29th March 2018
Where: Golden Mountain Temple / Wat Saket, Khwaeng Ban Bat, Khet Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10100, Thailand
Of the many temples I visited in Thailand, this was one of my favourites. On my final day, I headed to the Golden Mount or Wat Saket.

It is an artifical hill in the middle of the city with a fascinating history and beautiful views across the whole Bangkok. The steps sweep up and around the hill, you wander past detailled sculptures and statues, a coffee shop with lovely Thai tea, past bells and eventually to the very top, through an indoor section showing the Buddhas that align with days of the week and right up to the top to the well kept golden chedi.

After some disappointments of the previous day, the peace, tranquility and calm of this temple seemed to envelope me and made my final touristic moments in this mad sprawl of a city, perfect, and full of gratitude for an amazing trip, connecting with and meeting amazing people – incidentally, one of whom recommended this temple to me and gave me some photography tips that I think has improved my blog already, eating incredible food and so many other amazing experiences, too many to list!
