When: 2nd April 2018
Where: Pho & Bun, 76 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1D 6ND
Pho & Bun is a Vietnamese restaurant conveniently located in Chinatown near some of the big theatres – we were in the area to watch The Ferryman at The Gielgud Theatre, which we both heartily recommend, an amazing performance and poignant story.
Before we went to the theatre we had some tasty dishes at Pho & Bun. The restaurant has a good selection of vegan options which are clearly labelled on their menu. We went for the green papaya salad, stir fried pho with tofu and mushroom and a steamed bao burger with tofu, house pickle and soy sauce. The salad was crunchy and fresh, the stir fried pho was nice and with lovely fresh herbs, and the bao burger was something a little different with its soft steamed bread.
It’s a pleasure to eat at a restaurant that clearly labels items as vegan and has some thought put into them, despite not being a vegan establishment, all in all, a lovely experience.
