From Cebu Pier Lungsod ng Cebu, Lalawigan ng Cebu

To Tagbilaran City Sea Port, Dakabayan sa Tagbilaran, Lalawigan ng, Bohol

Conscious of all the flights we’d taken so far, we decided to try out the ferry from Cebu to Tagbilaran, to get to our next destination – Panglao. We booked our tickets via 12Go Asia, as we couldn’t find any other way to book, but we could see on the Oceanjet Ferries Facebook page that the time tallied, so it looked reliable.

We arrived at Cebu Pier about an hour and a half before we were due to depart, There was a nominal fee to enter the terminal – 25 pesos (around 43 cents), tickets are checked before you can enter the terminal.

Once inside the terminal, it was extremely busy and quite chaotic. We had luggage we wanted to check in, before checking it in, we had to queue to get the ticket checked and pay an extra 50pesos (if sailing on an economy ticket, if business class, it is included). Once this is paid, we joined a different queue to check the baggage in.

Once all this was sorted, we had a chance to sit down and waited for our ferry. There were a few stalls selling snacks and drinks.

Once on board we took our seats and had a pleasant sail across the Cebu Strait. The seats were comfortable and spacious, and there was a film playing on the tv in the middle at the front of economy class. The staff brought a cart selling drinks and snacks too. We already brought our vegan donuts and cookies from Kit’s Kitchenn (see here for my previous post).

The sailing took 2 hours from port to port and we arrived in the lovely Port of Tagbilaran on time. We waited a short while for the checked luggage to be offloaded on to the pier and then we exited the port an easily found our transfer to our next accommodation – Bohol Beach Club.

Despite the chaos of Cebu Pier, I really enjoyed travelling this way, it’s a great alternative to taking flights, which I usually avoid for obvious environmental reasons. It was quick, mostly smooth sailing and landed us in a really handy spot for Panglao.
