When: 2nd June 2018
Where: The Rolling Donut, 34 Bachelors Walk, North City, Dublin 1, D01 YN15, Ireland
Sometimes, things don’t end up as wholesome and organised as you think they would. So, this one time, we ended up having donuts for breakfast. Oops. And also, I thought we would take advantage of their 3 for a specific price offer, and have one and a half each, the hungry and generous boyfriend had other ideas.
The Rolling Donut began in 1978 and remains an Irish family owned business. From its beginnings in the Dandelion Market at Gaiety Green, 40 years on, they now have multiple outlets in the Dublin area as well as branches in Swords and Clondalkin.
Alongside their non-vegan donuts, they have a fantastic selection of vegan donuts, we had 6 and that was by no means all of their choices. We tried chocolate & coconut, cinnamon & sugar, coffee & walnut, raspberry & vanilla glaze, pistachio & vanilla glaze and a plain chocolate. My favourites were the raspberry and pistachio options, freeze-dried pieces of raspberry and chopped pistachios they were tasty and look deliciously decadent. It came to €16 for a box of 6, at this price they are definitely a special treat, but they were really delicious, creative and important to support local business too. I’d recommend getting a coffee too, it was especially good.
They have a delivery service for those in the Dublin area. Check out their website for more details and their Facebook too.
Very excited to see they’re currently doing Pride themed donuts for Pride Week, I do so hope there are vegan Pride options!
